If it is a DOCX file you can rename the extension to ZIP to get at the contents of the Word file. Same as Corel!

Ariel, thats why Corel need to write the workspace file to make it easy for new versions to ignore or ammend data so that it will import. They know what has changed so anything in the old workspace...
