Hi Phil. No I want to trim the outline so there is no bleeding half way into the original text. I don't want to have the outline over the text then trim it I need the outline that's been converted to curves behind the original text so when you select the text and the background outline and trim the background graphic it will leave a knock out where the original text is on the top layer. So if it did trim the background and you then deleted the text sitting on the top of the background the background would then be left hollow. Hope I'm explaining this clearly enough to understand.
