Thanks again - but I am not sure I would know how. All I know about the bios is that it is part of the fundamental computer system and therefore it would only report on the status of the computer's memory. As the problem arises on both my machines I suspect the fault lies with the software. However, if I have mis-understood and you can advise me I would appreciate knowing what to do.
