A little knowledge is is always dangerous David. Clearly Bill Kennedy and myself use Corel for different purposes than you do. Fuji Xerox who make more laser printers than HP does, use genuine Postscript 3 licensed from Adobe or an option to add a component with a licensed version of Postscript3 in all their printers. None of the Commercial printers (The real ones who print on paper or other material) that print and distribute our 52 page magazines and have done for the past 10 years use anything but true Adobe Postscript language in both conversion and plate making. Ask yourself why would they have a 50,000 square foot factory full of massive printing machines mounted on special vibration stabilizers that are fed by Postscript driven plate makers if they could use HP language and laser printers? At least 90 % of the commercial printing industry runs on Postscript. HP laser printers cannot output the resolution used by printing presses. Compared to a commercial printing machine, a laser printer is a toy. I presume you know why Postscript is so precise but for those who don't... it creates a vector matrix and addresses every part of the page within that matrix. Every dot is individually addressable. This is where its accuracy comes from. Any graphic artist who regularly gets printing done — Even the stuff sent to China for printing (particularly this stuff) needs to send an Adobe PDF file naming foundry typefaces that will be converted to Adobe Postscript before use to ensure exact reproduction of their work. Only Postscript Laser printers will create precise lettering at 300 point or larger using original typefaces from the foundry that licenses them. The imitation stuff with close sounding names that Corel give you has to be inaccurate to avoid copyright and patent laws. As for your comment about reliability? POSTSCRIPT 3 IS 100% RELIABLE. Always has been and always will be. That's why it is the language of choice used by Commercial Printing firms. You really should stop spreading incorrect information about it.
