I can only offer my own experiences with the versions. Lets start with X4. Crashed all the time. Upgraded to all new pc and X7. All rock solid. I have X8 at home and just upgraded to Win10 too. Seems to be rock solid as well. Drop shadow is much improved. Now uses Gaussian Blur. No annoying zoom pop up. You can opt to never see it again. You do realize you couldn't upgrade to X7 from anything under X5, you actually had to buy the full version. No more though. You can now upgrade from any version!
