Forum Post: RE: Upgrading from 12?

I have tried to install the fonts by right-clicking, by drag-and-drop, and by using a font manager (NexusFont, Printer's Apprentice) they all seem to *install* the fonts and I can select them in the font menus. However, they don't show up in Draw or Paint (or Illustrator and Indesign for that matter) when actually typing. It's like they're invisible, only they don't show up in wireframe either (and if I try to turn them to curves they vanish). Obviously there's some disconnect between the two files that make up the font. As for choosing to use Type 1, well, I don't have any. It's what work uses, and that's what I'm stuck with; What I was inquiring about is whether they can be used with X8 (on Windows 10, 64-bit if it matters) or not. It's kind of a deal-breaker at the moment. All of our work is done with Type 1 fonts--often pulling things from archives all the way back to 2000. I still need to be able to access and work on those files.
