No problem Claude, For now all I'm hoping is that CorelDRAW works fast with just the Windows fonts folder. That should be enough to at least get back to working on CorelDRAW. As for CFM, I an not bothered with it at the moment. Maybe a couple of versions down the line it might live up to expectations. A huge font collection is a blessing while redesigning logos, which I do quite a lot. Never can tell when you might need a particular font down the line, especially when clients insist on retaining a particular font, and 90 percent of the time they don't know the name of the font! :) Another program, Imagaro, does a great job of hunting thru our font database and returns the font/s used in any design. Its a simple workflow implemented, hence the massive font libraries. ATM I've switched to MainType from High-Logic. Its works extremely well with TWO font libraries, each of 60K+ fonts. Incidentally, even BFN worked great with around 55K fonts on the last version before it got dumped in the X8 upgrade. The initial indexing of the fonts to the database takes a while, but after that its blazing fast. Maybe a look at it will help. Costs less than $40. Just my opinion , but it does help a lot to look at other contenders and what they are capable of when designing a similar system. Might open up new ideas. Just saying. All the best Claude! :) I look forward to using CFM as soon as its viable. PS: Meanwhile, would be great of you could please enlighten me on the functionality of the 'Corel Font Service' background process, that fires up long with CorelDRAW. i find that for any of the fonts to show up in the Favorites filter, it has to me marked as favorite in CFM first. Is this service bridging CFM and CorelDRAW? If so, I was thinking it would have been a much better option to have the bridge thru a plugin, which could then be enhanced to plug into any other software, like maybe Illustrator and so on. Just an idea.
