although I don't understand much comment in the last paragraph about Adobe and Corel, but I see that the discussion is getting into the philosophical level... Anyway, the problem of programming - from my personal point of view is related to the legacy of the past: why do Corel has 6 ways to View of drawing, plus additional features in Options/Display and the View of artwork in Illustrator just 2 (Outline/Preview)? Not to adjust to weak hardware? It is not easy to change the sw data handling, which are "too much." Users like me does not want to deal with the technical details e.g. Transparency over transparency (even is important use a certain type of thinking).
