Amy. I believe Jerry's and George's answers could have helped you, and uninstalling X4 was probably not necessary. It is important to have the Shell Extension from the latest version (X7) installed last, and then make sure Windows is set to open the files with this version. Otherwise it won't work. Easiest way to do it is to right click a CDR, choose "Open with", then "Choose default program..." from the sub menu. Then select CorelDraw X7 and make sure "Always use this program..." is enabled before you click OK.
